Disneyland for adults

Greetings fellow guild members.

Not my local bottle shop in Takapuna.....alas.

What better place to appreciate this brew than the market square in Bruges? I can highly recommend this city if you are able to make the Belgian beer pilgrimage someday. Best to come in the shoulder season as it is a tourist Mecca as well.  https://www.delirium.be/en/world-of-delirium?ageform=1 This beer regularly wins gold medals at international competitions. Despite the appearance from this photo that we had had found a 6 foot tall bottle, it is appropriately packaged in the 330ml size, but we were on foot this day anyhow, so no worries. 😉

Type 25A, Belgian Blond 8.5% Can’t comment on the appearance as we didn’t have a glass with us at the time (shame!) Aroma - presents a floral bouquet with some vanilla and perhaps coriander. It is complex with light grainy malt aroma as well. Flavor- smooth, Belgian style yeast derived esters, again of a floral nature, mild herbal phenolics. Medium grainy sweet malt flavours initially. Smooth alcohol warmth. Mild spicy hop character. Mouth feel- Moderately carbonated with mouth filling bubbles. Medium body with dry but not astringent finish. Overall, this is an impressive example of the style to be sure, with I think, a unique perfume like character in both its flavor and aroma. BJCP score of 45/50.
